Make the decision to trust God

This news story from the Winnipeg Sun, Canada, offers an interesting perspective by a Pastor learning of a plane crash on CNN, while waiting to board a flight.   He recounts his feelings of fear and doubt, and a later conversation with an "atheist" while on another flight.  These circumstances stimulated his thinking about the issue of trust in God that may resonate with any number of us.

"Have you ever struggled to define what you believe? Has there ever been a point in your life when you questioned whether all you held to be true was really so?  Maybe you have even questioned the existence of God altogether".

"Faith isn’t something you come across by chance; it’s a conscious decision to trust.
In life, we’re taught to be wise when it comes to trusting.  You don’t marry someone you just met. You don’t trust someone to babysit your kids without checking their track record".

"God’s grace is the ability He gives you to grow and change every day. Don’t ever let the past define you. Today your identity is in God. You can do all things through Him".

I particularly loved this thought, as the past does, too often, define our present lives, sometimes to peril.
