Mr. 'blue neck" is mad as he can be. His head is tucked in, his butt is hunkered up, his tail feathers dragging the ground. He is shooting daggers from his beady black eyes. The proud little crest atop his head is drooping. He is so mad that he won't even eat the cat food I threw down for them. His MAD is palpable.
Mr. "green neck" has a far more pacific nature. He is a "dim bulb" type who cheerfully chows down while his brother grumbles and mutters. Nothing fazes him. It's all good in the hood is his attitude. The cats who like to play "grab kibble" from their new playmates can't score with this cool hand luke.

This elevation is not suited for exotic birds. How they got here is a mystery, because they have such huge bodies to hoist into the air, one wonders how far they could travel on wings. I hope to find the owners to recapture these magnificent birds, before they freeze their tails off. I'll bet that for these two bumbling peacocks - this is way more than they bargained for when they zoomed off. Imagine "peacock supermen", floundering around in the air and ground in their pea headed pursuit of places to go, things to see.
I wish I could tell them how to find their way home, because I cannot rescue them from their own actions. Whatever their normal food source may be, it is slim pickings here on this rocky, granite cliff. Their lesson in adaptation is one that I hope they figure out before coming to harm. Better yet, I hope they hear the mating calls of the female peacocks about 3 miles away. 'Tis the season.
I don't know what got into those guys, that caused them to wander so far, but I can say that they aren't really very bright. Well, except for their feathers.
Grumpy Gus and Clueless Wonder have found a shed to huddle under as night closes in and the forest goes silent. With their tummies full of cat food, it's all good in bird land, at least for tonight.
