Here is an opinion by Dr. Judith Rich on forgiveness and the issue of Osama Bin Laden. No doubt this article will stir up a host of emotional reactions, I know it did within me. However, forgiveness, as I see it, is the only way to be free from the past no matter the issue at hand.
"To live in a state of non-forgiveness, like resentment, is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. We might feel completely justified in holding on to these emotions and will find those who will render sympathy and emotional support for our position. Misery really does love company!"

Rabbi Geoffrey A. Mitelman: Retributive Justice and Restorative Justice stated:
"There is a difference been retributive justice, which gives us a primal sense of pleasure, and restorative justice, which is about our responsibilities as we try move forward".
Forgiveness is "a tough row to hoe", no doubt. This article is full of wisdom and is worth taking the time to read it in it's entirety.
