Indigo and Crystal Children—Understanding the New Kids on the Block, is a fascinating article that I fully intend to research further. I had heard of this "phenomena" about 30 years ago when I first started on my "path" of inner self discovery. During those years I read hundreds of books on every metaphysical, theoretical or hypothetical construct proposed in the very active 1980s, in particular.
Blue Ray, a.k.a. Indigo Ray, children have been a topic for speculation and ridicule until a film called Avatar brought home the message in a universally acceptable way. Fantasy. The reality, however, is quite a lot more as we can learn here.

"Old Souls
Many of us who are adults remember being called "old souls." We were the ones who were thinking outside of the box and sometimes trying to keep our friends out of trouble. In spiritual terms, old souls have had many lifetimes and lessons. Their innate knowledge comes in to build bridges with different cultures and to utilize technology to set up systems that support and sustain a better habitat. Old souls have come in and out throughout history.
Indigos
Indigo children started coming in during the 1970s and 1980s. These young people who are now in their 20s and 30s came in to bust up systems. They seemed to resist authority and want to do things their way. Old paradigms were to heavy for them, and they actively came up with new solutions.
Their intense minds were often classified with labels like ADHD or other conditions. Medications were doled out and constrained their minds and creativity. Indigos have shown a desire and openness to explore spirituality beyond mainstream religion.
The prevalence of video games and anime with spiritual, metaphysical and high fantasy further expanded their awareness and search for the truth. Now the Indigos are a powerful wave of change, and many are now taking their place in the world to shift attitudes to a more positive zone."
