The Role of Spirituality in a Worldshift

We have all been hearing massive amounts of imminent doomsday predictions threatening extinction of mankind.  Here is a realistic, scientific and humanistic point of view on such an incendiary topic as our very survival.

"We are truly living in exciting times. The challenges and crises facing the world today are portents of imminent change in civilization. We are on the threshold of an incredible global evolutionary shift. The current panoply of global crises collectively reveals we are facing our own extinction. Scientists acknowledge that the current degradation of the environment and the massive loss of species, are evidence that we are deep into the sixth mass extinction to hit Earth since the origin of life."

"New science revises four fundamental beliefs that shape civilization. These flawed assumptions include: 1) The Newtonian vision of the primacy of a physical, mechanical Universe; 2) Genes control biology; 3) Evolution resulted from random genetic mutations; and 4) Evolution is driven by a struggle for the survival-of-the-fittest. These failed beliefs represent the “Four Assumptions of the Apocalypse,” for they are driving human civilization to the brink of extinction"

"Crises are harbingers of evolution. Albert Einstein wisely proffered, “We cannot solve the problems with the same thinking that created them.” Consequently, the planet’s hope and salvation lies in the adoption of revolutionary new knowledge being revealed at the frontiers of science. This new awareness is shattering old myths and rewriting the “truths” that shape the character of human civilization."

"The crises we face present us with the greatest opportunity in human history – conscious evolution. Through consciousness, our minds have the power to change our planet and ourselves. It is time we heed the wisdom of the ancient indigenous people and channel our consciousness and spirit to tend the Garden and not destroy it."

These are strong views and merely a sampling of the gold that is mined in this deeply
thoughtful, inspiring opinion by Dr. Bruce Lipton.  Brilliant.

Pastor Ted NC Wilson : “Spirituality will conquer the World”

This article is a well written introduction to  Pastor Ted N.C. Wilson, the new president of the 16.5 million members globally of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  His philosophy and goals are laid out in very inspiring tones.  I found myself uplifted after reading his thoughtful and deep opinion on the frightening topic of Armageddon and the times we are living.  It is a must read for everyone, no matter what religious, philosophical or spiritual orientation, this affects the survival of all of us.

"In this war-torn universe you are preaching peace and teaching humanity to lead a
spiritual life. Do you really think there is place for spirituality when all nations are preparing for the ‘final assault’ on the plains of Armageddon?

The world is preparing for an interesting battle. I don’t think that Armageddon should be interpreted literally. I don’t think that there will be another world war involving the whole universe. I would not like to see that. I don’t think that it will be a physical war. It is rather a spiritual revolution that is winning the hearts of humanity. Evil forces will be defeated by peace and a true spiritual knowledge of God’s love and compassion. The signs of such a battle are already here. As people are involved in wars, others at the same place are crying for peace and justice. Climate change, natural disasters and the dissolution of high moral values are other signs that humanity is witnessing everyday and those who are taught of the great truth are aware that the end is near and that spirituality will conquer the world. "

"What is the basic teaching of your church?

Love your enemies as yourself. This may look simplistic but it is the solution to all our present-day problems. People today are too self-centred, showing that they have a heart of stone rather than a heart made of flesh. This is because they are far from God. It is only when you know God and accept his teachings that you will be capable of loving your enemy. This is the only way for a healthier and happier life."

The specter of the Armageddon, such as the one in the film 2012, looms over us threatening oblivion.  It's a topic that boggles the mind, and we all avoid it.  Yet, here we are faced with the facts all around us.  Thus, it is wonderful to gain the perspective of a well educated, spiritual being.  Pastor Wilson has offered deep advice here that wise  people take to heart.  This is just a sampling on the topics addressed in such an inspiring commentary.
